Great product. Ordered this for some curtains that are on an our if reach picture widow. This solved our problem. It works beautifully. There's no issues with it being out of range did the remote. Works every time.I could not be more happy, unless someone came and installed it too. Other then that it's a 💯 win. Don't hesitate.
The robot is very large and a bit heavy so this can only be used on curtain rods that can support the additional weight especially as the robot moves towards the center of the rod. The system includes connection hooks that allow you to attach the robot to different rod and curtain types. This solution is a smart home compatible device however the robot doesn't directly connect to any smart app it will connect to the Wi-Fi gateway (provided) which then allows you to add it to Smartlife or another compatible Smart Home system. This allows you to create automations based on any room sensors (Motion, Temp, LUX) or time-based automations to open\close curtains during certain times. The world is your oyster! The package also includes a handy remote control that allows you to open\close the curtains outside of any smart home application. It comes with 2 large 18650 7.4 wH LI batteries so this should run a long time before they need to be recharged. Since the unit is so large it provides sufficient power to move even thick black out curtains. It's a good solution, a little pricey but still less expensive that other vendor solutions.
I really wanted to like this curtain robot, but I had too many problems with it. First of all, I’ll say that I’m pretty competent when it comes to installing smart devices. At any given time, I have around 100 smart home devices operating on my network, all installed by me. But I found the installation of this curtain robot to be a bit confusing. The instructions in the app weren’t totally clear and seemed to be a less-than-perfect English translation. While setting the travel calibration, I had trouble getting the robot to move in the direction shown by the app. When the app showed the curtain opening, it was really closing, and vice versa. I had to physically move the robot to the other side of the curtain rod to make it match what was showing in the app. After I finally got the calibration to work, the robot reset itself after about two weeks, and I had to calibrate over again.I was able to get the robot working in Home Assistant, using the Tuya Local integration, which is great. Unfortunately, I found the robot to be very unresponsive to commands sent through Home Assistant. For the money, I would not recommend this curtain robot. Especially since for the same price, you can purchase a Zigbee version by other more well-known manufacturers that have a proven track record of working well.
